My Experience

With extensive experience working in various high performance clinical settings, I have had the opportunity to treat a wide range of lower limb conditions and patient/athlete demographics. My career highlights include:

English Institute of Sport (EIS)

15 years working as a senior physiotherapist and lower limb specialist at the English Institute of Sport (EIS) working exclusively with Olympic endurance athletes throughout the London 2012, Rio 2016, Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 cycles. My role centred around treating lower limb endurance related injury (tendinopathy, myofascial, aponeurotic, fasciopathy, complex joint and bone stress injuries). On top of day to day physiotherapeutic and rehabilitation services, I played a key role in providing individualised risk mitigation plans and strategies whilst helping athletes to enhance physical preparation for world class performance.

British Olympic Association (BOA)

Selected as part of the British Olympic Association (BOA) HQ physiotherapy team for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. My role across games time was to assess, treat and rehabilitate Team GB athletes for their events within the BOA Performance Lodge and support federation practitioners who required opinion on lower limb injuries.

Professional endurance athletes, triathletes and track athletes

Outside of the GBR Olympic system I have had the pleasure of providing private specialist consultation for professional endurance athletes, triathletes and track athletes helping them and their support team to overcome time critical and high risk injuries to podium level performances at the Olympic Games and world championships. International Federations include British Athletics (UKA), Irish Athletics (AI), Athletics Kenya (AK), Athletics Canada (AC) and Polish Athletics Association (PAA).

Premier League

More recently I have accepted consultant positions at Premier League clubs as well as being asked to provide opinion for Premier League and Championship level football players based in the North of England, leading on their rehabilitation and therapy goals, whilst collaborating directly with their clubs associated medical team.

Teaching

Away from clinical delivery: I guest lecture at Manchester Metropolitan University, Leeds Beckett University, UCL on the subject of endurance related lower limb injury.and teach other physiotherapists and performance practitioners on the subject of the sporting lower limb injuries for the Health Development & Practitioner Network (HDPN)
