My Approach and Philosophy
I believe in a no-nonsense, results-focused approach to physiotherapy. My goal is to help you recover quickly, train confidently, and prevent future setbacks by using evidence-based methods tailored to you and your sport or activity. Having been on both sides of injury—as a patient and now a physiotherapist—I aim to make the rehabilitation process as efficient and clear as possible.
Collaboration is central to how I work. I frequently partner with world-class sports doctors, orthopaedic surgeons and coaches / PT’s to ensure rehabilitation and injury prevention programmes are aligned with your goals. Whether you’re aiming to return to your sport, or simply staying active without pain, I’m here to help you build resilience and maintain your availability to train.
Clear communication and patient empowerment are key parts of my philosophy. I make sure you understand the "why" behind every step of your plan so you feel informed and confident to make good decisions during this process. I use objective data using state of the art technology to provide goal oriented criteria, enabling you to successfully exit and enter each stage of your rehabilitation.
My approach is grounded in integrity, empathy, and a genuine desire to see you succeed—whether that’s in the competitive arena or simply in day-to-day training.
“Oli’s transparency stood out; too many physios tell athletes what they want to hear rather than what they need to hear.”
Previous Roles

I was honoured to serve Team GB via the British Olympic Association HQ physiotherapy team for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. I provided time critical assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation for Team GB athletes preparing for competition while supporting federation practitioners with second opinions on complex lower limb and spinal injuries.
-
As a senior physiotherapist and lower limb specialist at the English Institute of Sport, I worked exclusively with Olympic athletes across the London 2012, Rio 2016, Tokyo 2020, and Paris 2024 Olympic cycles. During this period I provided physiotherapy services for British Triathlon, British Athletics, England Netball and England Squash. My role focused on managing lower limb and spinal injuries such as tendinopathy, myofascial pain, complex joint issues, and bone stress injuries. Alongside rehabilitation, I developed personalised strategies to reduce injury risk and optimise physical preparation for peak performance.
-
The majority of my time working with the world class athlete group was through employment at the EIS during London 2012, Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Olympic cycles. However for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic preparation I was employed directly by the federation to provide consultant services for Paris bound podium athletes
-
During the 2022/23 season I was asked to help the intensive rehabilitation unit on a contractual basis at the Manchester City Football group. My main role was to help manage complex injury caseloads back to the high performance training environment and up-skill team members where able through informal teaching and mentorship.
-
Since 2015, I have provided specialist lower limb consultancy on Harley Street in London, focusing on referred patients seeking expert opinions and post-operative rehabilitation. This role involved close collaboration with orthopaedic surgeons and sports and exercise medicine consultants, ensuring a comprehensive and tailored approach to patient care

During my time with British Weightlifting, I focused on supporting athletes to achieve peak performance, ensuring they could meet the demands of elite Olympic weightlifting competitions and Olympic qualification. My work primarily involved managing and rehabilitating lower back, hip, and knee injuries, with a strong emphasis on optimising movement patterns and resilience. I have also been asked to provide injury workshops and lectures to CrossFit and Hyrox gyms.
-
During my time at Leeds Rugby in 2011, I worked primarily with academy and senior academy athletes, focusing on the rehabilitation of acute lower limb ligament and muscle injuries. I played a key role in preparing athletes for progression to the senior squad, combining injury recovery with targeted physical preparation to meet the demands of elite-level rugby
-
Beyond clinical practice, I’m passionate about sharing knowledge. I guest lecture at Manchester Metropolitan University, Leeds Beckett University, and UCL, focusing on lower limb endurance injuries. Private Clinic Sport Experience

Endurance Athletes & Triathletes
I’ve had the privilege of consulting professional endurance athletes, track athletes, and triathletes from international federations, including British Triathlon, British Athletics, Athletics Kenya, Irish Athletics, and Athletics Canada. I’ve also worked with elite running groups such as the M11 Track Club and Nala Run Club in Kenya.
While I continue to support elite athletes and triathletes in managing high-risk injuries and achieving podium-level performances at the Olympic Games and World Championships, my primary focus is now on helping recreational and club-level runners and triathletes. I bring the same level of expertise to your recovery and performance, ensuring you can train with confidence and reach your goals
-
Team Sport Athletes
Since transitioning from the Olympic environment, I’ve had the privilege of working one-on-one with elite team sport athletes, providing specialist rehabilitation and collaborating closely with club medical teams. My experience includes working with Premier League and Championship footballers, England and Super League netball players, and athletes from England and Gallagher Premiership rugby clubs.
Players I’ve supported often emphasise the importance of refining sprint mechanics and targeted strategies to reduce the risk of their muscle strains, particularly in the hamstring and calf complex—key concerns in high-speed, multi-directional sports.
When rehabilitating muscle strains and non-contractile/aponeurotic injuries, my focus extends to performance enhancement. Drawing on my experience working with elite track athletes, I integrate strategies to optimise running and sprint mechanics, ensuring athletes return to play not just recovered, but stronger, faster, and more resilient.
-
Elite and Club Golfers
I’ve had the opportunity to work with golfers from the European Tour, DP World Tour and Challenge Tour, helping them address hip and lower back pain to optimise their swing performance and longevity in the sport.
As a keen golfer, I’m excited to offer my physiotherapeutic expertise to club golfers. Whether you’re managing persistent discomfort, recovering from an injury, or aiming to improve your ball striking mechanics through better movement and stability, I provide tailored physiotherapy to help you play pain-free and enjoy the game to its fullest.
With a focus on evidence-based rehabilitation and performance-focused techniques, I’ll work with you to address the specific demands of golf, reduce pain, and support your return to the course with confidence.
-
Hyrox / Cross-Fit Athletes
With a background in British Weightlifting, extensive experience in endurance sports, and my own CrossFit training, I provide specialist physiotherapy for Hyrox and CrossFit athletes.
These sports demand a unique blend of strength, power, and endurance, placing intense demands on the body. Through both personal experience and professional expertise, I understand the specific challenges they present.
Whether you're recovering from an injury, managing pain, or refining movement patterns for better performance, my approach is tailored to keep you strong, mobile, and injury-resistant—so you can train at your best.
